One team, two million, ten years
Anniversary in Wilsdruff: the plant near Dresden has been producing exhaust gas aftertreatment systems for commercial vehicles for ten years. Around two million systems have rolled off the production line over the past decade. This success is based on one thing above all: a dedicated team.
The signs pointed to success right from the start: the groundbreaking ceremony for the plant for commercial vehicle exhaust gas aftertreatment systems in Wilsdruff took place in November 2010. In May 2014, the Eberspächer management celebrated the start of series production together with the former Minister President of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich. Since then, around 200,000 systems have rolled off the production line every year – more than was projected when the plant was launched. Around 500 employees in production and administration ensure Clean Mobility from Wilsdruff.
A LOCATION WITH TRADITION
The passion for the automobile is firmly anchored in Saxony's history. Accordingly, the cooperation between Eberspächer, the town of Wilsdruff and the state of Saxony was close from the very beginning. A special feeling of welcome in “Autoland Saxony” accompanied the ramp-up of the Eberspächer Group's 65th plant. Today, the colleagues in Wilsdruff are particularly proud to have contributed to the successful development of the automotive industry in Saxony.
CELEBRATING SUCCESSES
At the internal festivities, the employees not only celebrated the tenth anniversary of series production, but also the two millionth system produced. For this, the assembly lines stood still for a short time: together with Martin Peters, Managing Partner of the Eberspächer Group, plant manager Stefan Müller paid tribute to the team's achievements on site. “The motivation and commitment of each individual here is really something very special. Through innovative technologies and the willingness to show full commitment, we are actively helping to shape Clean Mobility on our roads. We can be proud of that,” emphasized Müller. The celebration was attended by representatives of Purem by Eberspächer's management and local colleagues as well as former employees of the site. Many of them had been involved in the start of series production and thus laid the foundation for successful production.
