Half a century

SUCCESSFUL GROWTH AND INNOVATIVE SPIRIT IN NORTH AMERICA

The success story began in 1973, when Eberspächer Climate Control Systems was founded under the name Espar products to expand its business activities in North America. The company recognized the potential of its engine-independent pre-heaters, which were particularly popular during the cold North American winter months. Oleg Riabtsev, President Climate Control Systems North America, explained the success of the 1990s and 2000s: "With our Airtronic D2 air heater, we were perfectly positioned for this." The growth led to a move to the current location at Vipond in 2006, and to emphasize the affiliation with the group of companies, the name of the subsidiary was changed from Espar products to Eberspächer Climate Control Systems Canada Inc. in 2018.

FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE

The location in Mississauga, around 20 kilometers west of Toronto, is the hub for Canada, the United States and Mexico. Oleg Riabtsev emphasizes the importance of this location: "From here, we manage the business for fuel operated and electric vehicle heating, energy storage and air conditioning systems." The team of around one hundred people, most of whom have many years of experience, develops and produces thermal management solutions for various market segments. Recently acquired facilities enable cold chamber testing and the installation of products in test vehicles or influencer vehicles. The development of the Canadian subsidiary is continuing, as Martin Peters, Managing Partner of the Eberspächer Group, explains:

We are clearly investing – in our workforce and technologies. This includes customer service and future applications in electromobility.

FOCUSING ON LONG-TERM THINKING

Numerous guests, including Mayor Bonnie Crombie, congratulated the company on its anniversary. Martin Peters focused on the outstanding performance of the local team: "Half a century of successful business activity – that really is a unique and outstanding achievement. This anniversary underlines how the long-term thinking and actions of a family business can pay off."

In North America, the Eberspächer Group has nine locations with activities in the three divisions Purem by Eberspächer, Climate Control Systems and Automotive Controls and the new business area of hydrogen mobility.
